The ClimASed project was presented at the Civil Engineering Research in Ireland (CERI) 2026 Conference, held at Queen’s University Belfast on 18–19 June 2026.
Brano Batel from Munster Technological University (MTU) presented the conference paper “Climate Change Adaptation for and with Sediments (ClimASed)”, co-authored by Joe Harrington, Rodhraí Crowley and Vincent Hussey.
The presentation introduced the ClimASed project and highlighted its work on climate-adaptive sediment management, including the challenges associated with managing sediment in river systems under changing climate conditions. It also provided an opportunity to share the project with the wider civil engineering research community in Ireland and discuss approaches to improving the climate resilience of river systems across North-West Europe.
CERI 2026 brought together civil engineering researchers and practitioners from across Ireland for two days of research presentations, knowledge exchange and networking.
